AFE recognises that communication and outreach efforts do not receive as much emphasis in most Indian institutions associated with management of natural resources. This is either due to a lack of appreciation of the importance of effective outreach communication or due to lack of in-house human talent with skills required for effective outreach planning and delivery, or both.

Inadequate outreach and communication efforts lead to inadequate appreciation of the role and importance of work done by organisation concerned amongst the civil society.

AFE works with a variety of organisations to help them design effective outreach strategies and implement them in a time bound and effective manner while ensuring quality of content and its presentation. Apart from its in-house publications, AFE also produces and publishes Biotech News, the official newsletter of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, and CONNECT, the official newsletter of the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum.
